I have now handed all my work in, dissertation and all. The sense of relief is immense, but it's taken a lot of hard work to get there. ( more university rambling )
For the first time in my life, i feel like the only sensible member of my family. This isn't something i'm used to
I felt exactly the same when my Dad had the affair last year. My Mum was an absolute wreck (which is to be expected) and kept pestering me all the time about my Dad. I had Dad living with me and him being completely withdrawn and coming to terms with what he'd done. Finally I had my sister flipping out at every second she could and taking it out on everyone. I felt like all my problems were put aside for that week and no one was bothered about how it affected me. It was wierd acting the grown up when I needed the grown ups to look after me. Take care of yourself though and think of your own health and well being first :)
Thanks hun, it's nice to hear from somebody who has been through something similar! I think it's hard taking on the role of parent to everybody. People seem to forget that! xx
My Mum certainly did! You go into a mode where you forget about yourself because you just want it sorted because everything is so painful.
I hope your Dad will be ok. Darren's Dad was/is an alcoholic and even though its been hard after everything he's done, Darren has always stood by him because he is his Dad and sometime they need us as much as we need them. *hugs*
Well done for handing in all your coursework, & best of luck with all your revision. You've done so well to get this far, so be proud of that & don't worry about how much harder you could have worked - I'm sure you've done the best you could considering all the other stuff that's been going on. *Hannah sounds bossy...*
