hi! these are amazing!!...

well, i was wondering...would you please help me improve my LJ?? I have no idea how to do graphics or add headers. I would really like to learn from you, that is, if it's not any hassle to you.

again... your icons are amazing!!!

Thank you very much for the compliment.

What exactly are you asking? I'm afraid I don't have time to make you a header and layout myself, but if I pointed you in some right directions do you think that would help? What do you need to know?

Like I don't write my css myself, I just get it from (in the case of this layout) minty-peach and edit it heavily. I can cut out images and do some icons, but generally I suck at blending.

I see you make your own icons, so you're acquainted with graphics making. What are you looking to improve upon? Colorization? Text placement?

Do you know any HTML? Hex codes? Is your current layout an lj default with no css edits?

I want to help, but like I said, my time's kind of limited. The only way I'm going to be able to help at all though is if I have an idea what you need help with. So think it over and let me know the answers to these questions and anything else you want to add that you need direct help with.

okay, i now know what i want to do. i'm sorry it took a long time for me to reply. when i read your message, i was thinking of everything i want to do with my account so that i just have to ask you once and bother you less.

well, i'm looking to improve on colorization. what is the best (i.e downloadable) program i could acquire to, well, do what everyone at LJ does? hahaha....

i know html. hex codes are alien to me. i could probably learn how. you know, google. i don't know how to use css (again, i'm going to have to google that) as well and i'm sort of scared to twick my layout because i don't know how it works.

i checked out the journal of the person you got your layout from...i'll check back when i can make sense of it.

i really appreciate you replying to me even though i'm a complete stranger. i'm so sorry for bothering you. it seems that you're really busy. thank you so much for helping out!!!!

point the way!!!

Hmmm... I don't really have any ideas about downloading. Most people I've encountered on livejournal use Adobe Photoshop which is a completely excellent program. You can really do anything with it. You can get a free trial download of CS3 (what I use) here on the Adobe website. Only problem is I don't know how long the trial lasts and it's a pretty expensive program to buy. Maybe search for a crack?

Hex codes are just a system of defining colors in html. Like the hex code "17a2c5" is this color. Like you said, you can easily google it (or use the Photoshop color picker which will tell you what it is). You only need to know it so you can change the colors of the layout you start with to match your header. (e.g. I think this layout was originally blue and black or something so I had to change the colors to white and a red that matched Ellen's scarf.)

I definitely recommend minty_peach, because her stuff is great and very easy to edit and make your own style. Some other great options though are: thefulcrum, absonant, butterflybox, refutare, refuted, cartoonage. At lot of people find ( ... )
