I wonder if anyone will go for any of the live-action films, which I think outnumber the animations. In such a case for me it would probably have been Blackbeard's Ghost, with Peter Ustinov in the title role. To which I have the lp soundtrack, which consists of Ustiov, in character, describing the story, interspersed with choice dialogue exchanges, and ad libbing. When the vinyl goes within the next year this is one of the very few items I'll be keeping.

I like melayna's reason very much.

If we're going for live action Disneys, I'd have to say the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, on the strength of Captain Jack alone.
