I got my grades today and they were double A's, which made me dance around for a while. But now that I have wearied of dancing, I can actually get back to thinking ( Read more... )

I don't really censor my LJ, but there's stuff I don't put in it. Not just because my family and some of my classmates read it regularly, but because I just don't feel the need to share.

I also know I could never write an honest autobiography because I'm too vain. I wouldn't be able to accurately talk about the times when I've hideously embarrassed myself, or when I was a giant flaming asshole.

I, Personally, Have No Shame.. akdidge September 13 2005, 18:44:36 UTC
You know, for my LJ, I really don't care. I try very hard not to use names, instead speaking in generalities (i.e., my girlfriend, my friend, etc.), but other than that I really don't care and will write about whatever is bugging me, and or whatever comes across my mind at the moment. I protect my friends and my girlfriend's name simply because I'm not willing to divulge them. Certainly if my friends ever stumbled upon my LJ they could easily deduce to whom I was referring to when I wrote something, but the general populous wouldn't.

Perhaps I do this because I lack shame, or rather am not easily embarrassed and they might be. Or it could be from the fact that I care very little about what people I don't know think (Yes, I am that insensitive). Or it could all be some twisted joke, that I am perpetuating. No one can be certain. ;)

Perfect honesty would crush everyone. I pride myself on never telling lies but I'm one of the most deceptive people I know - I'm very clever at twisting words and confiding only half-truths.

My LJ has come under attack on more than one occasion for divulging too much of what people consider to be "their lives." Well, it's my journal. Clearly it's my life, too. You can't own the past. No one owns the past, but a lot of people think they're entitled to be offended by things.

That's the one right Americans abuse above all others - the right to take offense. It's not even written down anywhere, they just insisted on it.

Lame.

I'm very similar. I won't lie, but I usually twist words or only literally answer a question stated rather than what I believe someone implied. Unless I feel the need to be brutally honest. Which I've done if I feel like it. Totally depends on my mood, and how much I want to put up with from the other person.

Why, that's....I ought to...I'm so outraged and offended!

Ok, I'm not. But I had to comment on this.
