i'm not sure why i hit the tipping point, but i had finally heard enough about The Hunger Games to compel me to download it and give it a try. it probably didn't hurt that i was staying at a friend's house who keeps the thermostat around 50, so i was in bed under the covers quite early in the evening. i started reading around 10 (in bed, wearing my ( Read more... )

Will it please you or disappoint you to know that it's a trilogy, so there's only one more book to read?

I could have told you to read it loooong ago, but usually people ignore me when I recommend teen books. :)

yeah - i might have to read her other trilogy too. who knows. i don't think i'll love either trilogy as much as the his dark materials books.

When you're done with that, if you're interested, take a look at Graceling by Kristin Cashore. It's a stand-alone, so no trilogy investment. :)

i downloaded it! i hope to read it on the plane today! it's a standalone but there are also more of them set in that world (fire, bitterblue in may), so that's kind of a nice compromise.
