You hear about these things sometimes but I've never really run into it before? And it's been a long time since someone's been biased against me for my gender, usually it's a race thing. Not that that's any better but I'm more... numb to the racism thing. Sad, isn't it?

Some woman in one of my mother's online groups sent everyone a bunch of "jokes" this week that reeked terribly of sexism and they weren't even remotely funny. And I usually enjoy risqué jokes. It makes me glad I've never had to interact with people like that. I'm sorry you did.

(One of the jokes sent to my mom was something like "What do you call a woman with two brain cells? Pregnant." NOT funny. Funny to me is "How do you piss off a female archaeologist? Give her a used tampon and ask her what period it comes from." OK, I find that gross, too, but still amusing.)

That's not something you should be passing around the office! Have some professionalism, please! Tell it at dinner with friends (who will forgive you) or at a bar, but keep it out of the office.
