Because raw milk gives me a hard time, I put soymilk on my cereal in the morning. Today as I sat on the couch watching CNN with cereal bowl in hand, a certain little girl came up beside me and started pushing her little grey nose into it. It seems that SOMEONE has been teaching her that begging is acceptable behaviour from cats. Who could have ( Read more... )

Steve is already saying that he can smell cat pee, since the box is in the back hall by his bathroom. I haven't been back there but will monitor the situation; I will NOT be a house that smells like a catbox.

There are other pine litters than Trader Joe's, which is a good thing because I don't get out in that direction often. I like Hillcrest but rarely go since there's no easy way to get there and once there, you have to do battle for parking.

I gotta say, I tried the pine pellets, and I really hated it. I don't think the cat liked it much either(she didn't bury her poop,) but I found it supremely annoying to handle. It could me my mode of litterbox maintenance, which is to scoop any poop and litter that's got pee on it as soon as I see it, and pull up any wet layers of newspaper (and then change the whole thing when I run out of dry layers.) It was hard to brush aside the dry pellets to get to the disintegrated peed on pine. Leaving it there to sift to the bottom as recommended made the area smell like a barn and pee.

Gives a bit of credence to the "give everybody a gun" argument that the Swiss employ, but that's an awfully drastic step to take. I say invest in crossbows.

Reichsmuseum is correct. If ever in Amsterdam, they have a killer one. ^_^

Actually, there was a very uncool crossbow homicide in Ottawa about 10 years back. Alienated loser guy shot his successful ex-wife to death right there on the street. As I was gainfully employed and separated from an alienated loser guy of my own, it gave me uncomfortable pause.

i seem to remember offering to assist with the problem somewhere along the way.... [while looking into kevlar and chainmail for you]

crossbows do a lot of damage at fifty feet.

ugh... so obsolete yet so messy!

Rival gangs. Cops believe they know which ones they are. And, of course (note my sarcasm), the place to hold a shootout is outside a store at Yonge & Elm in broad daylight!

God. Sometimes I hate almost everything (bad, that is).

Ciao from the (former) city of sanity,
H.

That was Toronto's 78th homicide this year. I'm trying to find the stats for San Diego, but I'm thinking they're about the same. What's scary is that San Diego's homicide rate might end up being *lower*. They'll probably release the numbers January 1.
