When I started here, I was put in the office of a sergeant who was out for the week. He had a crucifix on his bookshelf, a Divine Mercy print, and a Catholic parish calendar. I get SO damn tired of the "flaunting their gay sexuality" argument. I have worked with any number of gay and lesbian soldiers and NOT a single one of them has ever a) told sexually explicit stories at work or b) gotten caught having sex somewhere they shouldn't (excluding the one pair of girls I caught while I was an AIT platoon sergeant making out on the PT field after curfew). I will say that I have known plenty of straight soldiers that did both A and B - more so B.
Yes, I would definitely have a "friendly" chat with New Convert about appropriate conversations at work (hint: sex, abortion, contraception and "teh gays are baaaad" are not included in this category)
