we support a lot of foreign countries. i really dont like it at all.. i agree with the basic idea that we have so many issues that we need to put that money here at home first.
that said... if we are going to support ANY foreign countries, i want it to go to our allies. (do you know we send a lot more than that to countries that actively support our enemies and or actively teach propoganda against us? we give more than that to saudi arabia every year if i recall correctly, and i forget what we give to Pakistan)
Completely true, about SA and Pakistan. They need to be cut off twice as fast. However, you don't hear them mentioned because Israel gets more of an emotional (and for many religious) response.
The US also gives money to Egypt, but we also have at least one base on Egyptian soil and they're with us in Afghanistan. So at least they act like allies.
Oh wow at the link in the comments above me. He sounds like another right-wing winner.
The idea of the 2012 election and all this drama starting all over again honestly makes me sick to my stomach. I think the 2008 election was a factor in Katie's Grad School Anxiety Fiasco 2008-Present, and I'm only just starting to get over it. I'm so not ready to do this again. Considering holding my breath underwater until it's over.
I've voted against Perry three out of the four chances I've had (2006 primary pitted him against a scary secessionist). But I can see myself picking him over some of the other folks running around.
