It's not that he's jealous because Eduardo . . . Whatever, it's not that he's jealous.
Okay, it is that he's jealous. He's jealous and pissy and he isn't dating Eduardo so he can't get drunk and code a website where you rate how hot guys are either, especially since that would probably raise concerns about his sexuality. Mark doesn't really care about that, but he's fairly certain that it'll make his life harder and Mark doesn't particularly want to deal with anything else.
Unless that something is Eduardo. Mark needs Eduardo, wants Eduardo, breathes Eduardo. He wants to curl his fingers in the crisp fabric of Eduardo's shirt and crush their lips together.
But he won't. Instead, he rewrites the code of Eduardo's profile and removes the option to change his relationship status.
If he can't have Eduardo, no one can.

It's one in the morning when Eduardo's phone buzzes. He gropes for the phone, curling his fingers around it and pulling it toward him. Blinking, he reads the text, which is from Mark. It's always Mark. He's probably drunk (which really just means it's a day ending in y).
Why do guys in porn never have boxers on?
Eduardo blinks at the screen and lets the text sink in. Apparently Mark is not only drunk, but watching porn (which is never a good combination). Sometimes, Eduardo wonders if his life would be improved if he didn't have Mark as a friend. Then he realizes that Mark would have found him somehow, because Mark needs someone who can be there for him, doesn't walk away from him. He sighs and types out a reply.
better question: why do you always text me when you're watching porn
Snapping the phone shut, Eduardo closes his eyes again. Not really because he wants to go back to sleep, but because he's tired and he knows Mark is going to text him back. Sure enough, his phone buzzes.
Because you're the only one who texts back.
because, Eduardo texts back, normal people are asleep right now
Sorry, the next text reads, I probably woke you up. I apologize.
no worries, i'm always here for you
It's a quick text, saved because he has to send it so often, and it's . . . Mark knows it's the equivalent of goodnight and maybe I love you. At least, Eduardo hopes he does.
