Some news about KiSCon 2013! I can tell you that it will be held November 1st - 3rd in Boston, MA (USA). I cannot yet tell you at which hotel, as the negotiations will take another couple of weeks.

I've looked at flights and I could probably get one under 1000 Euro, so that would be ok. I'll need to borrow some money from my brother anyway but if the whole trip would stay under 1500 that should be ok. Thank god I haven't confirmed my summer holiday, so I can still cancel it and save some money that way :)

I just checked the current conversion rate, and your goal price does look very doable at the moment. I'm not going to make any promises, though, until I have a signed contract in my hands. As soon as that happens, I'll post something giving the prices, even before I post the registration page. Just to warn you, this might take 2-4 weeks. (Naturally, I want it to happen right now!)

Excellent! I'd very much love to see you there, though I'm sorry it's such a difficult weekend for you. I'm hoping to book a place I love in a very convenient location, which I hope would make things a bit easier for you. (Of course, one person's 'convenient' is sometimes another person's 'hellhole'....)

Hi, I just saw all about this and am super excited because my GF and I are saving up to come! We've never been to an East coast con, but I am happy that this will be our first. :D

Just wondering- will cosplay be cool? Because, well, we are probably going to bring many, many outfits to show our appreciation for Space Husbands~

Also, super excited to hear about the fanzine, my gf and I would love to contribute to it, if our art and/or fic are good enough. :3

First off, let me just say that I totally LOVE your icon! :D

As to your questions, YES! Cosplay is totally cool, though you should be aware that we won't have the entire hotel to ourselves, just the meeting spaces. I can find out, however, if they have our room block in about the same area.

We'd love to have you contribute to the fanzine! arminaa does a fantastic job of putting it together, so you'll be in good hands with any necessary beta work that might need doing. Start creating now, as the time will be tight once the instructions go up!

Also, a quick prod to register before September 1st, if that's anywhere near the realm of possibility, as registrations are slow, and we'll have to cancel by that date if we don't get enough people to make it viable. (If we cancel, everyone who has registered will receive a full refund by whatever method of payment they have used.)

In closing, I love your enthusiasm, and am looking forward very much to meeting you and your GF at the convention!

Awesome! I wasn't sure, but there are so many great costumes from Star Trek, both TOS and the reboot. It would be really fun to wear as many as we could. But then, we cosplay a lot in general anyway. lol

We are really set on wanting to come, so I will try to get our reg's sent in next week? Because that is when I will get paid next. It sounds like it would be wise of me to hold off on plane tickets then, or no? Because we will be flying from Washington State.

Excellent! I'll look forward to seeing your many costumes, even though I can be a bit face-blind and may need reminders of who you are with each change of clothing. *embarrassed facepalm*

I should have mentioned that any subject or rating of fanfic and/or art for the zine is fine, as long as it centers on K/S. Also, any format. I'm guessing that the minimum length would be on the order of a haiku, and there might or might not be a maximum length to save on paper.

Next week is completely fine. The registrations are trickling in, and there are others who've expressed strong interest in and commitment to coming. I'm not sure how to advise you about the plane tickets, as different airlines have different policies about cancellations/changes, and the convention couldn't possibly cover refunding travel fees for people. I can say that I'm optimistic about the event happening, but that I'd love to see the trickle turn into a river very soon. ;)
