Unless you are taking it upon yourself to become an angel of death, the natural rise to management of people with new ideas takes time. Add to that the problem of the RIAA pretty much being a monopoly on music media outlets it it tough to say, "I am going to start my own company and screw the RIAA."

I also think there is a bit of the blame culture getting the better of the record companies here. It is easier to say everyone is a pirate than come up with new ideas to take advantage of new outlets for media.

While your statement has merit, I just find it difficult to understand that noone looks at this and says, "hey, maybe we're doing something wrong."

I believe that it is happening... I just find it difficult to wrap my thought-meats around.
