All webcomics are funnier at the beginning for the simple fact the creator has fresh ideas. Usually the jokes do not depend on character development or plot. They are comedic situations or dialogue. Unfortunately, there comes a point where you get character. This can be either through developing it yourself, or the characters reach a critial mass within the comic itself. Either way the comic tends to get bogged down with plot and character development, rather than "teh funney." (There is an alternative and it is called the filler comic). I would point to Sluggy Freelance as another example. If you read the archives from way back in the day there may have been plot, but most of it was wacky hijinxs. Now it is much more story driven. While it does have moments which are funny, the comic is merely entertaining now rather than funny ha-ha.

You're crazy. That never happened.

Are you taking your medicine, Koji-chan?
