=) I recall mentioning some while ago to you that I was thinking of taking this class, so I knew you'd be glad to hear I'd followed through.

...Come to think of it, I haven't yet checked the episode to see if by any chance the bag J&M get their cake in is yellow. if it is, I'm so gonna laugh.

If memory serves (and lord knows it doesn't on a regular basis), I don't think it came in a bag, they're just holding it and munching.

OMG OMG CASTELLA BAG :D
And the Italian market near our house has just started selling castella :D :D

Those dolls sound like a lot of fun. The kitty is so cute! Looks kind of like Bumpus when he cuddles up to me.

--oo, if you get some castella let us know what it's like. From the recipes I've seen it seems to be very sweet and rich.

I knew everyone would love the bag =)=)=)

The kitty is so cute! Is it stone, ceramic? I can't tell....

I hope you post a pic of your work when you finish. It looks like lots of fun.

The cat is a hollow form made from paulownia wood (specifically, a mixture of paulownia wood dust and some kind of resin, which they press into molds to make the doll bodies). Being small it's very light, but the bigger dolls even though hollow are quite heavy. The tallest human Kimekomi figures stand about 18"- 24" tall, at least the ones I've seen so far.
