I loved this particular part of "Lulluby":
wiped away tears with a gentleness that only mothers and those forced into the role too soon could muster and smiled tenderly and reassuringly at her young charges, giving them confidence and disspelling most of their fears.
Probably because... it's just Katara, plain and simply. ^^

goodness, katara would make a good mother. *looks pointedly at zuko* and I think that's why all the guys are drawn to her - Aang, because... duh, he's a little boy desperately wanted that sort of affection/strength/faith; Jet, because he's so damaged and katara's the healing type; zuko... for all the reasons above and because the smex would be hot and steamy
