Not busy, and I've got the room to myself. Come on over.

He tidied--there were bras on the floor, and one hung over the back of a chair--and ran a hand through his hair. Apart from everything else, McCoy had implied Kirk needed someone to talk to. Jim just hoped it was him--his track record of late hadn't been so good.

Kirk came down easily enough after the message, but actually hung in front of the door to the trio's room in silence for a minute or two. Potentially, it could get awkward... potentially there was a lot else it could do. Still, the questions he wanted to ask overrode the rare nervousness he felt. If he couldn't talk to his counterpart, what the hell was wrong with him?

He pressed the buzzer on the door.

Jim called for entry easily, just fetching some iced tea from the replicator. He was dressed casually in one of Tina's skirts and sweaters.

"Hi, Jim," he said. "It's nice to see you off-the-record, as it were. Tea?"

It was still a little bizarre. "Sure." Kirk sat down, watching Jim. The skirt... he wondered why. Maybe just because Jim could, might as well live it up while he had the chance? Most women he had met in his life still seemed to prefer pants. "So how's it going?" He put on a grin.
