Kirk looked down at the small box in hand, listening to someone down the hall as they sang a carol - completely wasted. He smirked just a little, and entered his code into the device by the door. It opened, and he slipped inside.
It was hot as hell inside, but he ignored it. He looked around slowly, thinking about the best place, then finally just put the box, and a note along with it, on the cleanly made bed. Kirk smiled once, then left Spock's room.
Spock,
Pretty sure this is the right thing. Something small to remind you, keep her close. Maybe in the future, you can use it for the right person. Your dad had some weird tastes, though. Must be a Vulcan thing. Merry... Happy... whatever you celebrate.
Kirk had managed to track down where one very special ring had been made, and had bought a duplicate. It was large, but it rested on a chain so it didn't have to be worn on finger.
