Glee 3x03 - 3 ways this ep could have been better but the writers dropped the ball (again)

I wasn't overly impressed with this episode, it was miles away from Grilled Cheesus and twice as gloomy as Home, with basically no positive/happy scenes. I did appreciate it a bit more after watching it again but it brought back to light a lot of issues I had with s2, that I thought were gone. On top of that, I expected certain things to happen and

You know, I hadn't thought about it before, but that is an awesome take on Emma's parents and Carl. I'd mostly forgotten about him because he was mostly an excuse for Will to act like more of a douche than usual (even though he was an awesome supportive spouse from what they showed us), but this 'couldn't sleep with him because he's a dirty Greek' angle is absolutely fascinating to me.

I think Mike's parents only have issues with glee now because it seemed to be affecting his grades (though why they didn't target football as well is beyond me). Maybe they've always secretly hated it because they didn't show up to the Night of Neglect and it's a recurring plot theme for Glee? I don't know. I just loved the scene of him dancing with his mom.

And because you have a Snape mood icon thingy and mentioned the universe peeing on Kurt...

The moment Emma's parents mentioned Carl, the moment my brain went ooooooooooh...

Mike's a much better dancer thank footballer, so it makes no sense they targeted Glee before football but oh well.
