My list: Top 7 Superheroes Who Should Just Be Acknowledged as Bisexual

Jan 25, 2011 19:43

Congratulations! So you're a supervillian! You've got your cool costume, a codename that will put fear in the hearts of your enemies, maybe you even got yourself a minion and a nemesis already. Well how cool is that! There are so many things you can do - you can try taking over the world, if you like classics; you can try destroying the world or ( Read more... )

comics, marvel, fandom makes me go yay, the list, dc

DEADPOOL IS SO BISEXUAL. OR PANSEXUAL. I don't know, he just seems the type who wouldn't give a rat's ass about gender. He's too BUSY for that.

I never really thought of Johnny Storm as bi though. That would be REALLY interesting and high-profile. :)

If he wasn't in love with Nathan, I don't know what love is. I mean, crap, after they parted ways Wade called it "a divorce".

I just keep seeing those jokes how he's gay, there is a certain slashiness in his interaction with some male heroes. Let's just turn that subtext into text, have him come out as bi, get some publicity and rejoice. I think he'd be the highest profile hero who came out as queer ever.

1. Johnny Storm

Hmmm.

Do you mind if I pick your brain for a minute?

See, I'm writing a series of fics that have a version of the movie!verse Johnny in them. Since my fic Johnny is bi, and I'm not at all familiar with the FF comics, I was wondering if you could share some of the slashier moments you've noticed?

I know it's a hardship, but talk slash to me. ;D

This is going to be hard for me to be honest, I'm not really all that familiar with F4 and put Johnny on this list because Scans_Daily used to love post panels of him getting all slashy with male heroes. That was at least over 2 years ago, I remember they were therefor I don't remember the exact panels and scenes. There was also the new FF cartoon from several years ago where Johnny was a total ass to Namor and I couldn't help but interpret that as jealousy.
I failed a sister in slash. They will take my license now :(

Ha! Nah, slashers are notoriously lax about anything that might involve paperwork. I think it's all the porn - makes us mellow. ;D

2 years ago on Scans_Daily, huh? Crap. Stupid Peter David. Though I guess I could head on over to the new version and see if there's anything there. Actually, I don't know why I didn't think of that before.

God, how much do I love that 'research' includes looking at comics trying to find slashy subtext? ;)

Daken is not evil, he's just ~misunderstood. In a way that always makes me wonder should I punch him or just roll my eyes. I guess I can always punch him while rolling my eyes.

I would love to see all sorts of non-gay queer characters: asexual, transsexual, cross-dressing, bi and everything else there is.

Oh Chuck, I remember what an epic wank we had on SD over him saying he doesn't want his children to read comicbooks with gay characters in it. Teenage pregnancy? Bring it on! But gays? EW.

Who hasn't heard of Booster Gold or Namor!?

Wow, I thought Namor was already out. Must be my wishful thinking.

As for Bosster Gold's future, there are so many dimensions/alternate endings/"what if..." comics that he could easily be paired with a guy *coughBlueBeetlecough*

Deadpool is a dead giveaway. I'd be more surprised to hear that he was straight.

A gigantic YES on the Fire and Ice femmeslash, and Johnny just speaks for himself here.

On another kind of similar note, I would love to see some serious Asexuals in comics. Not characters who don't happen to be involved or having sex, but actual Aces.

Probably the sad sad deprived majority. Tragic.

He's not out, no but I can already imagine the condescending look he'll give to the person who'll act surprised about him being bi. No one does hot condescending like Namor.

There is a verse where the two of them gave into their passion. It's called DC :P

Deadpool being straight would be both shocking and disappointing. And not real.

As I wrote above, I'd love to see all sorts of non-gay queer characters in comic books. When was the last time you've seen a trans or asexual hero? Exactly. Connor was very close to being asexual before HE HAD SEX WOTH A WOoh why do i even bother :/ Faily comics was Faily.

More people need to be nerdy. This terrible ignorance cannot go on! It's why no one gets my Frostbite/Off-Road jokes.

I need to catch up on my Namor. I have a little more time free this semester, maybe I'll see what I can do about that. *nods to self*

I think my favorite WTF character is a sentient transexual street that saves the lives of people who are lost and different. :)
I have no idea how they found out it was transexual, or that streets had sexualities in the first place, but it's a definate WTF character so I can't try using logic.
