So over the last few months I've been writing some reviews in my free time. But not for my own site or blog, no. Instead, I have cleverly been contributing free labor to a site that some people actually read.

Some of you may know of Jeremy Parish, formerly of ToastyFrog, currently a features editor at 1Up. The current incarnation of his ( Read more... )

I get the feeling it's pretty full at the moment. Jeremy only publishes full-length contributed articles at a rate of about two per week, alongside all his own stuff, so people can keep up. Most (but not all) of the people doing it are forum regulars. I ended up starting in on it because the genesis of the Granstream Saga article was originally for an earlier paper 'zine of his that fizzled out before the issue it was slated for got published, and after suffering through that game I darn well wanted to do something with it.

By the way, have you poked around the other Gamespite wiki articles much? I thought this paean to the animation in Street Fighter III 3rd Strike might be relevant to your interests.

Ah, that was well done! Diggin' the reference to Melty Blood too.

I notice there's a lot of nothing in the whole Suiko area. Somebody ought to get working on that.

I'm still disappointed that my "OMG THEY HAVE NO FACES!" still doesn't merit mention in your review. God, but that game was creepy.

I think Jeremy himself called dibs on Suiko 2, though lord knows when he'll have time to write it. I might do Suiko 4 eventually if I feel a need to write something more snarky than the reviews of things I really liked. There's also been some more Suiko discussion in the forums lately, so maybe someone else will do the first installment, which I've never actually seen played.

I just want to point out for those playing along at home that he wrote this comment while I was standing right next to him. For the sake of the thread.
