Well, here's something unexpected. I just bought a Hammond Organ.

It's all Phil's fault. Someone posted to the WXDU mailing list that there was one sitting in a Salvation Army thrift store for $100. And, well... Hammonds are awesome. They come from the period slightly before modern electric synthesizers... instead they're electromechanical - ( Read more... )

And in another of those weird connections the world throws at you, I was one of the guys hauling the Hammond out to the car and back.

In reply to Robin, a couple entries above, we took one look at the stairs to the second floor and said hell no. Instead, we re-arranged some furniture in the living room and put it to the left of the existing piano, which we scooted to the right after moving one bookshelf around the corner to behind the kitchen bar thingy.

It was kinda cute, first thing after we brought it inside the front door, one of the cats started climbing inside.
