Y'know, I find it kind of amusing that in the wake of a serious accident in which five cyclists -- who were, by all accounts, riding safely and following the rules of the road to the letter -- were injured, the police decide to crack down... on cyclists.

Cyclists on sidewalks, driving the wrong way down the street into oncoming traffic, ignoring stop lights, failing to signal... these are all common on Ottawa streets. They are probably more noticeable too, given that bikes are somewhat slower than cars.

But then I think jaywalking should be ticketed and those damn motorized scooters on the road should be fined. And more tickets to drivers. More tickets! More tickets!
