Now, I'm no fan of Stephen Harper. But I've got to go on the record, and say that I'm very pleased he said this.

There is a presumption here that Canada does not have our own share of difficulties (i.e., closed, homogeneous and dogmatic pressures). There is still a sense of "the other" in Canada and, though it may not be as pronounced or it may not be correct to say it is as pronounced as in other countries, there is a danger of overlooking it
