I woke up this morning after some odd dreams and saw a big-ass brown spider on my floor. I think it was the brother of that massive thing we throw out of the apartment when the girls were visiting. This sucker looked dangerous! I tried to catch it in a kleenex, but it ran, so I tried again and it disappeared somewhere in the bowels of my room.

Eek, spider! Whenever I hear "brown spider" my first thought is "brown recluse," but I don't think they're common in this state, fortunately.

I'm extra paranoid about large spiders now after learning that the big ones around here have a bite that can result in necrotising arachnidism but I still really like watching the one in our window casement.

I have no idea what this thing was. I really hope it's not a brown recluse. I need to find my bug identification book in case I see it again.
