Much like little kids, they bully and tease the people they like the most - which in this case, happened to be each other, and happens to be through information brokering.The fact that Zoe discovered he's a bit better looking than she imagined, thanks to handy digital camera send-over, probably doesn't hurt either. After all, nothing's going to happen seeing as the only means of communicating through that 80-year time lapse are letters.
You know, except for that part where the teams DO meet up, and suddenly that once-unattainable-because-of-78-year-time-difference guy becomes well, attainable. He's there and more fun to argue with in person and he hates to be clung onto, so of course that's just asking for Zoe to harass him the entire time; nevermind that while Zoe is practically sexually harassing the poor guy they still work and plan extremely well together, if only she would learn that he's far more interested in her mind than her um, negligible assets. She certainly has a better mind of ( ... )

Ohgoddd Nephi and Fu… they were so dumb together it was cute.
Fusae wasn't exactly certain when she ended up officially together with what amounted as jailbait, but somewhere in between trying to convince him to keep out of trouble altogether he just started coming over to her garage-apartment more and more often. Being as stubborn as Nephi tends to be, once he got infatuated there was no way that Fusae could just listen to his awkward love confession and then shut him down without him just running back off to Hiroki with no hope of ever escaping.
However, the key to them hooking up and staying together for real kinda lies in Nephi's Not Dying. SO. In the AU/magical land where he doesn't get a shotgun to the head, and is instead left mostly dead instead of all dead. And of course, once you get almost killed by Hiroki, the smartest thing to do is to get the hell out of there (sorry Seta, love to help, but would rather not die, etc etc…) and you know she sets her mind to talking Nephi into transferring faaaar away from Inaba. and ( ... )

ONCE UPON A TIME IN EDITH'S MAGICAL FANTASIES Jimmy and Theo pretended to hate each other but we all know that in any good romance novel that sort of thing only means that they're practically BURNING FOR EACH OTHER'S TOUCH. Seeing that neither one of them was wearing a bodice for the other to rip, though, they just so happened to fall for each other in a very roundabout-gentlemanly way. There was lots of bickering, and arguing, and then actual fistfighting which involved rolling around in the mud with each other , but that's just out of their frustration over being so drawn to each other and having no clue what the hell to do about it. Jimmy's annoyed at the constant ribbing on his sense of authority and can't seem to figure out the mess that is Theo's obnoxious tsundere-motherhenning, Theo can't bring himself to just tell Jimmy to get the hell away from him and shut up for some reason, and while it carries on for a while something is just asking to snap ( ... )
