[KinKi Fic] Listening for the Bells
A quickie with minimal setup, sorta inspired by Higashiyama-san taking his Kouichi-worries to 5LDK and SDK -- waaay in the past, but plotbunny (not that this has a plot proper to speak of) only strikes now, so.

"So," Higashiyama began, after the dishes were washed and they were sitting in his living room, sipping tea. "What of Kouichi?"
Tsuyoshi blinked. "Kouichi? He's fine..."
"Any girlfriend yet?"
Tsuyoshi laughed. "Not that I know of."
Higashiyama hummed. "A tough one, isn't he?"
"Well, he did go and acquire Pan all of a sudden, so perhaps..."
"Ah, you're right. He's the type who speeds his way through once he finds what he wants."
Tsuyoshi contemplated that for a while. "That'll probably work out all right, he's picky enough to begin with."
"Oh, I'm not worried about the choices he makes." Higashiyama patted Tsuyoshi's shoulder. "Not with his judgement, and yours."
"Senpai," Tsuyoshi protested mildly. "I am not going to tell him whom he can or cannot marry."
"All the same, he won't go against your opinions, and believe me, he'll seek them." Higashiyama pointed a meaningful finger. "You'll get to meet the woman he intends to marry before he pops the question. When that happens, I'll be counting on you."
"Well, I did ask him to consult me, if only to make sure he wouldn't botch the proposal." Tsuyoshi chuckled. "But it's mostly a joke."
"You say that now." Higashiyama quirked an eyebrow. "Once the situation arises, it won't be a joke anymore. You two are a unit. Anything of this scale, tell me if his first thought wouldn't be: What would Tsuyoshi think?"
After a pause, Tsuyoshi said softly, "It would."
"Just as yours would?" Higashiyama said, a new twinkle in his eyes. "Which brings me to my next question."
Tsuyoshi groaned, and Higashiyama grinned.
"Right. What of you?"
