Been playing with some word-count formats for KinKi fics, very VERY short ones (easy to keep count! xP) though sometimes I cheated by saying more with the titles...
These are meant to be
flash fiction, which means they should be complete stories on their own (as opposed to vignettes), but I'm taking it loosely, what with all the fandom general knowledge I've always relied on, too. =D;
Disclaimer: This writing is fictional and has no commercial purpose. Characters are real persons belonging to themselves.
Pairing: KinKi Kids
Genre: Flash fiction (6--16 words). Mostly fluff/humor, some angst.
Rating: G

[2-4] Linger
Concert ended.
Backstage, shoulders touched still.
---
[5-1] Approved Materials (a.k.a. A Matter of Statistics)
"But some fans like cars!"
"Kouichi."
---
[Six-Word] Hush
Band spotted duo kissing. Rehearsal delayed.
[*]
The six-word story. The [2-4] and [5-1] I made up are both variants of this, but it's more fun to make the distinction. =D
---
[2-4-4-5-1] Live Coverage
Party started.
Kouichi skipped, gone home.
Tsuyoshi's phone got busy.
"Pan-chan is rolling over now..."
"Idiot."
---
[5-1-2-4-4] Parental Controls
Kouichi's eyes shone with enthusiasm.
"Cool!"
Tsuyoshi frowned.
The game[*] was confiscated.
"Not until you've eaten."
[*] .../magazine/catalogue/puppy/etc. (Choose Kouichi's Your Own Addiction)

[Haiku] Beginnings
Humming our new song,
drowsing in the car, somehow
I followed him home.
[*] Obviously not a prose form, but I lean towards free-form poetry anyway, so. =P The
English haiku apparently has no strict form; here I follow the classic 5-7-5 rule, though counting with English syllables instead of Japanese mora.

The following are some angsty pieces I've tried at first, hypothesizing that clipped phrases made good emotional impact, but I couldn't manage sufficient description within the constraints. They feel uncalled-for after the lighthearted pieces above, but I thought I'd just put them up and let them go. -_- Feel free to skip, but please have a read at the ending note?
---
[2-4-4-5-1] Help Me
Stay away.
Kouichi never says it.
His reactions speak enough.
Kouichi's silence, however, conceals storms.
Please.
---
[5-1-2-4-4] Arrested Development
Nothing happened; that's the irony.
Unscarred.
No relationships.
Hearts, silenced, lose passion.
What doesn't shatter, disfigures.
---
Ending note:
If you've found yourself substituting alternative phrases while reading (yes, that "Choose Your Own Addiction" was a bait!), or starting to come up with your own stories or invent your own formats, or by now considering to do any of the above... please do write and share! =D The "quickie" style seems pretty conducive for quirky ideas and plot bunnies, or so I hope?
Lastly, one extra fic that doesn't quite belong above, given the lengthier style, but also too short to make an independent post, so I just whipped up some counting method to force it into. xP (And maybe it can persuade those of you who prefer longer writing to cook up less-constrained forms too?)

[24+51] In the Public Eye
The debut song. Not a particularly heart-wrenching tune, but...
The long-time partner beside him, as always.
His eyes watered.
Kouichi noticed, then looked away-- subtle to everyone but him.
Not a spontaneous gentleman, as always. But he had never minded.
The thought had dispersed by the time they got to the encore, when, making use of the momentum, Kouichi reached out briskly and tousled his hair-- an awkward comforting gesture subtle to everyone but him.
