Because I'm still a Tomapi shipper despite Toma going all "Jun, Jun" nowadays. xD

Three Can Keep A Secret

Go had resolved to be less shy. (He really had!) All the more when they had been pushed into this unlikely combi who were supposed to sustain a nice chat for the camera. He could have gotten away with shyness if it were only with Taichi, his senior, but he too had a junior he was supposed to take care of, here.

Toma, said junior, the most junior of them three, was looking understandably nervous. Go thought the boy was friendly by nature and had observed him blending in with other actors on the set in a short time, but apparently the inhibition due to their hierarchical relationship was still there.

He didn't think Taichi was relaxed either, being the host who needed to make the show interesting. But at least Taichi didn't seem to be feeling the pressure right now, as he walked into the holding room to meet them, bright and cheerful and getting all physical with Toma right away.

Ah yes, now he remembered Toma did hang out a lot with the TOKIO guys. That would leave him as the awkward one who was gingerly returning Taichi's enthusiastic man hug...

"How is it going so far?" Taichi beamed. Toma politely waited for him to answer first, and Go mumbled an okay.

"I mentioned this to Nagase-kun when we met up for soccer the other day," Toma told Taichi.

"Oh!" Taichi perked up. "The one I couldn't go for. Who else were there?"

Toma started listing names, and Go happily contributed his ears and recognizing nods while Taichi did all the commenting.

"How about Yamapi?"

"Ah," Toma faltered a while from the unexpected question. "No, we didn't ask Yamashita... he is not really into soccer."

"Is that so," Taichi responded. Go didn't quite understand the keen widening of his eyes.

"Senpai," Toma protested laughingly, and Go didn't understand the pleading tone either.

Taichi grinned and changed the subject, until they were called to start filming.

The reminiscing video was quite all right, thank goodness. Go had been dreading NHK's timeless collection of embarrassing past performances, but they were gentle this time.

"Oh, there's Yamapi!" Taichi pointed out. The view had shifted by then, and if the others likewise caught it, they didn't comment further. Go subconsciously registered Taichi's seeming interest in that particular junior, though it was only when Taichi asked about their views on the juniors that he made the connection.

That was reasonable, he supposed. These young idols were moving up real fast. Before this it had been Arashi who got on the unfortunate receiving end of Taichi's intent watch, or so he heard Inocchi gossiping.

Whether or not Toma had heard the same thing, Go thought the boy could at least tell Taichi's subtle (or not, after all?) attempt at sniffing out Yamapi's activities through him (during actual filming, no less!), because he didn't take Taichi's bait the second time ("Did the others come to watch? Yamapi?") and talked about Matsujun instead. Well, that wouldn't hurt if Arashi were already on Taichi's radar anyway...

In any case, it was best to keep silent and focus on Taichi's next question, so Go did just that.

--

"Taichi-kun," he heard Toma complaining after the filming was done. "That was mean!"

Taichi laughed and put an arm around Toma's shoulder. He didn't reply to the accusation, and instead invited both of them to dine together afterwards.

They were perhaps referring to the information fishing, but Go wasn't very confident in the part of his skills that should be responsible for picking up these things. This thought also reminded him of his resolution to improve that, so he hauled his bag to where Toma was still packing his, after Taichi had left them momentarily to talk to the director.

"What was it about?" he asked, as casually as he could. "The filming went okay, didn't it?"

"It... it did," Toma answered, a bit more flustered than Go would expect. Was it that out of character for him to initiate a conversation for once?

They steered the topic to upcoming theatre plays. That managed to liven the atmosphere until Taichi reappeared.

"Ready to go?" Taichi asked.

They agreed almost simultaneously.

Go clutched his bag and followed behind Taichi, who had once again given Toma the friendly arm.

"What do you think, shall we call Yamapi to join us?"

Toma burst into a nervous laughter. "Senpai!"

"Eh?" Go sounded his confusion out loud this time.

"Go is familiar with him too, right?" Taichi turned to him. "Didn't he go to visit the filming set from time to time?"

Go frowned, trying to remember while telling himself not to mind how Taichi's grin actually looked rather evil. "I wasn't on the set for a long period. I think he came once?" He looked at Toma for confirmation, but Toma was too busy sending Taichi panicked looks.

"It's fine then," Taichi declared.

"It's not fine!" Toma burst out miserably. "This has nothing to do with Yamashita, so please leave us alone!"

Go spotted the blush and felt quite sorry for Toma, but he contributed a small laughter to Taichi's hearty one, because it would be even more uncomfortable to look as if he was the only one who didn't grasp the situation. He had not entirely forgotten his obligation as a senior and ex-co-actor, really; he just had a wiser observation that few people in the agency had what it took to go against Taichi, junior or no; and even fewer had the brashness to actually do so.

Morita Go was not one of them. The most he could do for Toma at the moment was to not ask further questions.

Besides, if he really felt like challenging his social skills for the sake of curiosity, it would be much safer to call up Inocchi later for the latest gossip about these poor juniors.
