[KinKi Fic] Roommate Frustration

Jul 15, 2009 23:08

Silly random fluff, with which I'm testing the limits of minimalist writing, just to make it a little less pointless. This by the way is my attempt to detox after reading
kinou_no_koukai's emotionally intense fics. ^^0

Disclaimer: This writing is fictional and has no commercial purpose. Characters are real persons belonging to themselves.

Pairing: Suggestively KinKi (Jr period)
Genre: Fluff
Rating: G
Note: I'm trying out the use of semi-verb sound effects to replace proper sentences. I hope they can be understood as is, but if the confusion gets too much, should display the intended subject. If you read, please do let me know how that works out. =D;;

Summary: One of KinKi's dorm room-sharing days, based on Tsuyoshi's complaint when Nagase went on LLA.

Roommate Frustration

Clack.

Weary eyes opened, instantly squinted against the light. What the hell, Kouichi...

"Sorry," came the not-so-apologetic whisper.

Grunt. He snuggled back into the pillow.

The other bed creaked slightly as Kouichi sat down. Creaked again as Kouichi seemed to stand up and walk away from it.

Click.

The annoying red behind his eyes turned a nice pitch black.

Rustle. Rustle.

Pause.

Step. Step. Step.

Click.

The red returned. Ugh.

Creak.

Rustle. Rustle.

Damn laundry...

Slide. Clink.

Creak.

Pause.

Crea...

"Kouichi!"

Kouichi turned, a guilty uneasiness on his face. "Sorry. You don't have filming tomorrow, do you?"

"No, but I still want to sleep peacefully!"

Kouichi sat back down meekly. "All right."

No sooner than the figure leaving his view, the furniture sounded again. For goodness' sake...

Kouichi squeaked at his glare. "Uh, the lights, I just--"

Step. Step. Click. There.

"...Goodnight."

Snuggle. Finally...

Silence.

Soft rustle.

Drawn-out clack. A brief line of corridor light.

Muffled sounds. The other juniors might still be roaming outside.

Soft clack. Another peek of light. Shushed voice.

Clack.

Creak...

Rustle.

Creak...

Swish-- Step-- Thump!

"Tsu...yoshi..."

"Stay. Down. Already. Will you."

Kouichi's chest heaved frantically under his arm; the eyes he couldn't see from this face-down position must have been wide with shock.

Beat.

"All right, I got it... Could you..."

The unevenness under his leg felt like unfolded laundry sure to be offensive to Kouichi. "I don't trust you."

Exhale. "But like this, I..."

"Things can wait until the morning. Let me sleep."

Beat.

"Uh, actually..."

"Your skin is cold..."

Pause.

"Um... I just took shower."

"Hm."

Beat.

"Tsuyoshi...?"

Beat.

"Are you asleep?"

Beat.

Slip...

Grip.

"See. I said I didn't trust you~~"

"...Uh."

Beat.

Beat.

Beat...

--

Sun rays. Uhhhm... Huh?

Soft breathing.

--Ah.

He took his arm off slowly, in the process dropping the fingers that had somehow clung to it.

Kouichi's eyes opened.

He stood up quickly, turning away as Kouichi pulled himself up with a start.

One step, and he was back on his own bed.

"What time is it?" Kouichi murmured, squinting without his glasses.

"Seven plus." Rub. "It's our day off. We can sleep some more."

"Um." Pause. "Happy birthday."

Eh? "Eh?"

Kouichi sat up, drawing his legs to his chest with a small smile. "Today's the tenth."

"Oh." Whoa... "Thanks..."

"We got a cake," Kouichi said. "It should be in the fridge... well, if the others haven't eaten it up last night."

"You mean there is a party planned...?"

Kouichi scratched his head. "Sort of."

Wait a minute... "So that's what last night was all about? All the noises and keeping me from sleeping."

"Well... it's supposed to be just a little prank."

...Not something he is likely to do on his own. "Who put you up to this?"

Startle. "Eh, no-- uh, just randomly?"

Not telling, huh. "It kinda failed, then."

Kouichi turned rather red. "I guess we fell asleep way before midnight."

Which means someone might have entered to check... "And we didn't lock the door."

Kouichi turned to look at the door. "...I did tell them to cancel, since you said you wanted to sleep."

"Still. I won't trust that bunch not to barge in."

"Um."

Well, can't do anything about it now. "You want to get breakfast?"

Startle. "Will that be okay? If someone--"

"It will be more weird if we don't go out soon."

"...I guess you're right."

Kouichi made a move to stand up.

"Wait. I'll go first."

Blink. "Ah. Okay. I understand."

Step. Step. Clack.

Now let me see...

The kitchen table was littered with empty soda cans. Tsk. Those gossipers. At least this means the cake is still...

Thud.

...in the fridge.

"Oh, Tsuyoshi!"

Inocchi's cheerful smile brightened the room instantly.

Tap! Tap! "Today's the day, huh? Happy birthday!"

He laughed. "Thanks."

Their eyes met.

Pause.

Inocchi turned to the table. "Ah, are you looking for something for breakfast? Go ahead and have the cake."

...I see. That was fast... "You came up with the plan, didn't you?"

"Uh, what?" Inocchi searched the table for an unopened can.

"My birthday celebration."

Awkward laugh. "Everyone discussed about it, but in the end..."

Seriously, Inocchi, if you weren't this kind-- "Ah, sorry, I was tired yesterday."

"No, no, that's okay! Well, it's a pity, but hey, we can still celebrate it today."

"Sure. Thank you, really."

"No problem! I'll gather the guys as soon as they drag their lazy bums out of bed."

Chuckle. "Okay."

"--Ah."

Turn. "Oh, Kouichi."

Kouichi nodded uncomfortably. "Inocchi. Morning."

"Morning... Ah, hey, you two can go ahead and eat the cake. I'll get everybody for lunch afterwards, okay? Then, later!"

Swoosh.

Silence.

"So it's Inocchi."

Kouichi pulled the chair and sat down with a resigned look. "...I suspect it doesn't quite matter who."

"Probably. Unless he came up with a very good cover." That nice guy.

"I guess we'll see at lunch, then."

Exhale. "So. Cake?"

"Not for me, thanks."

Thud. "Here."

"You know I don't like--"

"Batsu game."

Pause.

"Don't I get to choose...?"

"Nuh-uh." Happy birthday to me.

Sigh. "Itadakimasu."
