Grouch Conundrum

Things have been rumbling along pretty nondescriptly for the last couple of months - holidays were good, we didn't travel around anywhere but compared to last year's food-poisoining fest it was flipping fantastic. Lucia got lots of things, as usual, and she really likes her Sesame Street "Smart Tablet" which is basically just a 2-sided button-

I think I mentioned this to you some time ago - it's possible that Chuck really just needs more time away from Lu to a.) just be a grownup and b.) have time with you sans Lu.

I don't know if he's been able to get back to work or if you guys have arranged day/after-school care, but now might be the time to consider it. Long-term weathering of a marriage with issues like this often wind up getting aired in divorce court. I don't want to sound fatalistic - it just seems like every time you post there's some sort of grumping on Chuck's part that has to do with Lu or not having enough time with you.

I'm sure you see all my entries about being pissed at not getting enough time with Rahb - it's something we're just now getting around to really constructively addressing, and it's a long way to go but it's a good thing. Apologies if this makes you think "Well who the hell does she think SHE is she's got her own damn problems" and you wouldn't be wrong, but, you know, I <3 you guys and I have a healthy concern for your wellbeing

Since Lu got into the Early Ed program things have been alot better with Chuck. He joined a gym a couple months ago, he's had more time to just get things done around the house, etc. I think it's just part of his brain that pushes him into these "down" moods, which consistently are marked by the symptoms above of feeling persecuted by the universe and grousing about it endlessly
