Although it looks like America has him beat (and yes it's not over but you can usually tell how these things will go by this point) I am so amazed he got this far, never considering his series to be such a huge fandom. Being in 2nd place is not shabby at all and at least he is giving America a good run (I feel bad for Howl though

It's so funny, he wears pink a lot and yet even with his beautiful face it doesn't make him look girlier to me, as people might stereotypically expect. It just seems like a proper gentle color for a gentle characerr.

Actually one of the reasons I do love Natsume is I feel he does a lot of things opposite of gender stereotypes: besides being able to wear pink, he is also allowed to cry, while he fights back when needed he is not really a physically strong character, and I find him very nurturing.

Not sure if Midorikawa sensei did all this stuff on purpose or it's just the fact that he is a male shoujo lead character. But I really like it. :)

Yeah I have to agree, those are reasons I like Natsume too. He really is very nurturing, but he's nurturing in a manner in which I still see him as a guy and I don't see him as a woman that a female mangaka is insisting is a guy, you know? Somehow it feels like there's a difference...
