Although this is all over Twitter I am posting this here as well. It hasn't really hit English language news sites yet but I am sure it will be all over anime websites soon. At age 47 this is a terrible loss ( Read more... )

Oh...oh my gosh. ;; He was my favorite anime director, seriously. I...can't even believe it.... ;_____;

While he wasn't my favorite anime director I am still terribly saddened by this. He was extremely creative and an individual artist. When a lot of anime just copies off of other anime he was a true artist in the crowd.

This is all over my friends list, and I still can't believe this. I loved him so much. He was brilliant.

I know I am still in a state of shock and denial. I was literally just talking about him the other day to someone and then today I hear he is gone. It's so very sad. :(

I am thinking his colleagues at Madhouse knew but probably didn't release the information to the public. Maybe his final film will be releases posthumously.

It happened the day before yesterday. Apparently he knew he was dying for a long time but for many reasons kept it from the public.

He will be sorely missed. :(
