Newkirk & Carter Pic Spam

Feb 26, 2010 10:53

When it snows I like to do Hogan's Heroes Pic Spams. :)

Anyways this is not exactly a Newkirk & Carter pic spam but it's a pic spam of a Newkirk episode Swing Shift & Carter episode One Army at a Time (both of which I know are favorites among people on my FL which is why I chose them. The two episodes are kind of similar too aren't they?) So there ( Read more... )

Wheeeee, thank you so much XD These caps are awesome!!!

Michelle Ma Belle
Wonderful screen caps!!! Especially this part is so lovely :)

Don't you love how they are speaking in English about their plans to sabotage & blow up the factory in ear shot of all the Germans working in the factory. XD
Talking about their plans in German wouldn’t exactly be better, I think ;)

Aww, I just love Newkirk’s reaction to Give it to those allies! and the way he looks at the colonel, lol...

The Ugly Yellow Sweatshirt
Who cares!? ;)

* * *

*pets poor Carter*

it bothers me that everyone is so uncharacteristically not worried about Carter
If this wasn’t supposed to be comedy, I’d say in a situation like this it might even be better to act like that?
Oh and don’t you just love how Newkirk keeps talking about how clever Andrew is ;)

I'll go AWOL from two armies at the same time
Is there any actor more qualified for this role than Larry Hovis?

And OMG hairnet!!!

the End & Tank You
ROTFL!!!

Glad you enjoyed them :D

LOL well true but either way I think they were not being really inconspicuous about the whole thing. XD

Who cares!? ;)

Me! I just thought it was kind of unflattering on him. They should have dressed him in his undershirt a la "Everybody Loves a Snowman" :)

Partially I agree but I think in other episodes at least a little worry is present. And Newkirk not being worried (and calling Carter Clever, although that did make me laugh) seems especially OOC. But then again as I said before consistency was not the show's strong point.

And yes Hovis was excellent at the impersonations. This & the one he does in Sticky Wicket Newkirk are among my favorites (and also hitler of course). :)

But that’s the best way to avoid causing suspicion, isn’t it? ;)

Well, I just thought that everything else about him was way too distracting to even find the time to take a closer look at his shirt. Especially his facial expressions. But, of course, I wouldn’t mind the "Everybody Loves a Snowman"-undershirt, either ;)

And Newkirk not being worried seems especially OOC.
Obviously the writer of this episode does not belong to the Newkirk/Carter fans...
But I got the feeling that the atmosphere was a little rougher in general. It’s not unusual for Hogan to tell Newkirk to shut his big mouth, but the way he said it, seemed to be a little more unfriendly than in other episodes. And then again, Hogan calls Carter Andrew, which confused me a little...

(and calling Carter Clever, although that did make me laugh)I wonder whether he wanted to soothe himself, the others or Carter or he simply meant ( ... )

In some cases yes but I think talking so noticeably in English would have caused some suspicion but then as you say speaking about the same things in German would not have been much better. I guess I am just giving the director/writer of the ep a hard time because I am not entirely sure how they could have done a better job. lol

The writer probably doesn't realize there would be all these female fans who years later would analyze the relationship of the characters either :D

I read "Duel of Honor" was one of Hovis' favorite episodes because he got to whack everyone with a saber.

And yellow sweatshirt or not I do still love that entire scene. xD

I think I am probably being too hard on the yellow sweatshirt lol XD

Carter's face is priceless in that cap. The actors in general made some really hilarious facial expressions in the show so its fun to make screencaps of them.

And glad you liked them. :)

I do think Rochette's scores might have been raised a little because of what happened with her mom but she still skated a good program regardless. And while emotional stuff shouldn't influence things like this, I think it does (and this wasn't the 1st time and it won't be the last). What Rochette did out there was certainly admirable. And while I did like Mirai's performance slightly more that is still my own personal bias. The judges thought differently and that's what count in the end.

Speaking of which they finally spoke a little about the location of the Olympics. They did a little thing on logging. I still think they could do a better job promoting the area for tourism though,

Carter risked capture 40 times in that episode.Well in a lot of episodes have implausible situations but I think this episode was especially lacking in logic (as amusing as it was). I mean when Carter is missing the first time they think "stalling" in roll call will be enough but they don't even know where he is or when he will be back (even if he will ( ... )

Thank you I am glad you liked them. I have a lot of fun screencapping this series because there are so many funny moments (although it's hard when to call it quits). XD

And Klink's hairnet scene is definitely classic. Also glad you appreciated my headings lol. :)

I call it photof*ckit, sometimes :P

Ha Ha but without it what would I do. For all it's issue I still think its the best photo sharing site online

Ha ha! Oh man, you're my hero for posting these! Two of my very favorite episodes from the series...and you got some really great screencaps! Clary and Banner have such expressive faces, and I love Hovis and Dawson so much in these episodes especially. Thanks for sharing these! OK to make icons of them, etc.?

Yes it's definitely okay to make icons of them!

I like to share screencaps since I don't have any other skills to give to the fandom so it makes me happy when people use them. :D
