Pimping a New Hogan's Heroes Community

For the few of you on my FL who have not already seen this (or those who are just lurking....say Hi sometimes) a new General Hogan's Heroes community has been created (not by me to be clear) that allows everything to be posted and does not exclude anything. Stalag_13 has a new censorship rule that does not allow slash and I do not approve of that so as ( Read more... )

I do plan to stick around your LJ and I certainly don't mind having you on my LJ if you want to stay. I have absolutely no issues with you (and yes I know your opinions on slash) But no I can't stay at the HH community. That doesn't mean I won't post about HH on my personal journal which has nothing to do with the community.

You can see my locked post on how I feel about this issue if you want. I am fine with someone not being a fan of something. I just can't support censorship in a fandom community. And also the way the censorship was brought up bothers me.

Hey there! Thanks for the heads-up on the new comm!

Read your post regarding your thoughts on the matter, and have to say (regardless of my opinions on slash, favorable though they are!) that you presented your objections very well.

Kudos to you for having the courage to put your thoughts out there, and defend your position so ably. Really respected what you said, and like to think I would have done so even if I hadn't initially been predisposed to agree with you.

It's too bad there isn't a better way to get the new community out there because I think a lot of people would want to join a community that is tolerant to all parts of the fandom.

Yeah, true that. I guess we just have to refer people to it, and spread the news by word of mouth. I am really happy to see this comm...seems silly to have a comm only for slash, and one totally slash-free. It's nice to have it all in one place, for people who just like all the aspects and possibilities of the series!

Yeah alternative communities are fine for unique fandom interests but every fandom needs a community that encompasses the entire fandom. This is what I thought Stalag_13 was when I joined but I guess I was mistaken. Well I am glad there is the new community now and hopefully it will grow. :)

...Wow, this has not been a good day for tolerance (see my latest journal entry for more). What happened in that community disappoints me. I really can't stand when people push their views on other people. I'll leave it at that though because I don't want to start anything.
Glad to hear another open community was created for that fandom though, and to see your support! :)

I just read your entry.....wow that's disturbing. Last time I checked lesbian is not a bad word morons.

Anyways yeah I am definitely glad there is new community. The issue is getting people to know about it and join. I posted it here but only a limited amount of people from the fandom read my journal.
