My Beatlemania Continues

Lately I have not been doing anything but listen to my Beatles' music. From favorite songs that I already listen to all the time, to songs I haven't listened to in years.

One thing I really love is actually not a Beatles' song per say but a solo effort by George Harrison (Paul & Ringo also contributed). He wrote this song as a tribute for John ( Read more... )

I love that song. When I was younger, Paul was always my favorite. Saw him in concert and everything. But when I got older I really started to appreciate George. "All Things Must Pass" is one of my all time favorite albums.

And I always get completely sad when I listen to John. So I have to be in a mood. But I do love him so.

Ringo? He's a goober. A lovable goober though. LOL!

As a child I was deeply in love with John Lennon (I am not entirely sure why but I think he was my dad's favorite and that must have influenced me). But I mean really in love. I was determined to marry him. No one had the heart to tell the 5 year old me that he was already dead (I was born in 82) and when I found out my heart was completely broken. The funny thing is I knew he was married to Yoko Ono but that didn't seem to be an issue to me at the time. LOL ( ... )

I had an unhealthy crush on young Paul when I was growing up. *giggle*

When I saw him in concert, I thought I was going to die. (even though he was not his cute Beatle self).

It was a great concert. Back in August he came here to Atlanta and gave a concert in Piedmont Park. It was a pretty big deal. Huge concert. I didn't go because the tickets were ridiculous. Actually, all of his ticket prices now are ridiculous, which kinda pisses me off. When I saw him back in '93, they were fairly reasonable. He doesn't need the money. When I lived in Indiana he came through Indianapolis and I wanted to go, and the cheapest tickets were $150. Not cool.

Plus, I feel like with Linda gone he's not the same, you know? *sigh*

And George was definitely underrated. I wish he had been allowed to have more than his "1 song an album" allotment.

I love that song. It is so beautiful. I think George is my second favorite Beatle. Or maybe third. My second and thirhd always switch between George and Ringo. I adore John of course, but Paul will always be my favorite.

Hey, did you know Paul McCartney is going to do a concert in New York on Thanksgiving? I saw a commercial for it on TV today. Just thought I'd let you know incase you didn't. :)

No I didn't know so thanks for telling me about it. I looked it up and it sounds like they will also show clips from the Beatles concert at Shea Stadium and will interview Paul about his time in the Beatles so it sounds really cool. I will definitely be watching. :)

Well you were lucky to be there around that time and to have been able to experience it first hand. I wish I could go back in time and see them perform live, but I guess I have to be content with seeing them on videos and listening to their music on CD's. :)

Ringo and George I think had the best personalities of the group since they seemed more down to Earth. I think those two balanced out John and Paul's stronger personalities.
