1) Two of my friends today told me that they could not get through the British version and they liked the US version more. They have hurt me deeply D

Well at least you didn't see the UK version first :)
It's the idea of saying the US version is better than the UK version more than liking the US version that bothers me. Although I can't enjoy the US version because I can't help comparing it to the UK version.
But the US version of the Office is good! I haven't seen the original (though I want to at some point), but it really is an enjoyable series in its own right.
Oh, I agree that remakes are entirely unnecessary, and it makes me angry that the US just goes and takes series of other countries and remakes them. What was wrong with the first take to begin with?
However, I think at this point comparing British Office and US Office is kind of moot, based off all of the reviews and comparisons I've read. US Office started out trying to emulate British Office and (again, from what I've read) failed at that pretty badly. However, with time it grew into its own thing with a different style of humor, different point, different ideas, and so on, and it's a great series for what it is--on its own.
On general terms, I agree with your anger, though. It's similar to how I feel about the live action Cowboy Bebop, though that's still a bit different.
Well I have heard very good things about the US version of the Office. Of course I am not saying it is impossible to have a good remake, maybe even a better remake (and some people say that about the Office) but it is rare indeed and it does seem like the TV execs think the American public is too dumb to appreciate series from other countries. And it bothers me that people here will only know the American version

I'm concentrating pretty hard to make it happen, actually.
I am praying with you...well it is not doing good rating wise according to Wikipedia so hopefully they will put it out of its misery. But then again I am not sure what is considered acceptable ratings anymore since TV ratings in general are not very good anymore because they keep putting on crapI really hate the idea that people are watching the American version now because it is easily accessible and not giving the British version a chance or being like my friends and saying it is "too British" for them. People are just lazy

And I've seen some of the US LOM and it pales in comparison to the original.
On another note we speak the same language so I don't understand why America has to remake everything.
