Okay I know I am obsessed with Sarah Jane Adventures so I have a bias, but Daniel Anthony who plays Clyde Langer would have been the perfect Sokka. He doesn't exactly look like him (but not like the actor Nick chose looks like Sokka at all) and he is British but I know he could play the part perfectly. After all Clyde definitely has that sarcastic

But as for serious discussion I do think someone African American could have played Sokka even though Sokka is supposed to be Inuit. There are plenty of African Americans with lighter skin tone like Sokka. Obviously someone Inuit will be ideal or even as you say Polynesian/Pacific Islander. But even if they got someone from S. Asia like India/Pakistan or the Middle East all these choices would have been better for Sokka/Katara than two Caucasians.
Casting the nationalities doesn't have to be perfect to me but it annoys me that they didn't try for any diversity at all when I think Avatar is meant to be a diverse world of 4 different nations.

Just... let's try to be authentic to the world, okay?
And if someone is whining about "OMG not equal opportunity for whites!" Um. Just STFU.

What I ideally wanted to see is each of the 4 nations represented by a different nationality. Instead they turned the Avatar world into Protestant America D:

I'm going to post cat pictures from America when I get there! So many cat pictures even I'll get sick of them.

Does your brother have any cats? Every time I travel I take picture of cats I see. I love international cats. My friends make fun of me when they see the photos I take. So I will look forward to your own international cat pictures then.

And he has two! cats. One was picked up from a shelter of sorts, a very handsome 7-year-old tuxedo cat, and another was er... appropriated on the bus when it was on the way to being put down, I think o_O 2-year-old RIDICULOUSLY HUGE CAT.
I love seeing pics of cats from all over the world myself. There's nothing wrong with taking pics of cats! I do that when I'm overseas too... when I have a camera, that is. A pity I keep forgetting to take a good picture of my best buddy black skinny cat outside the gate and the tsundere brown-and-white one upstairs.

I have a lot of awesome international cat pictures. But once I do regret that I took a picture of this stray cat and I was out of film (yeah I still have a film camera) and because of this I missed taking the most adorable picture of Japanese school children all wearing matching hot pink hats. It was the cutest thing ever and my cat obsession made me miss out D:.
