When/if I become a writer, dying suddenly and leaving a work unfinished is going to be one of my greatest fears. Actually, it already is, but only a few people are reading my story right now so it wouldn't be such a great loss. :( I haven't read Wheel of Time (loooong fantasy series intimidate me), but it's really sad that he couldn't finish that last book.
You shouldn't say things like that, of course it would. And god forbid! :(
Although I blame the not finishing the book on Jordan. It's an entertaining series, but it is way too long. There is a lot of unnecessary stuff in the series. The long length does make it feel more epic but it didn't have to be that long. He started the series when he was young but since it took him this long to finish it, he wasn't a young man anymore. Most authors wouldn't have this issue because they don't take this long to finish their story.
