This post is dedicated to three great guys who I feel the most pity for.
In dramas, there'd always be a hero and a heroin, right? Usually, in Korean dramas specifically, one other guy would fall for the heroin much sooner than the hero does. He would treat the leading lady much nicer, and would be there for her anytime she needs help or a companion. In short, he's a gentleman that you think will only exist in dreams.
Or in dramas.
These are among those gentlemen:
Yoon Ji-hoo, from Boys Over Flower. He wiped the girl's tears, put on a smile on her face, made her laugh, cleaned her up, offered her a place to stay, came to her rescue when she was in trouble, stayed by her side when she was sad or lonely, lent her a shoulder to cry on, sang her a song. Fireman - that's what he calls himself. In the end, he got dumped for a spoiled, arrogant boy.
Park Joon-se, from Brilliant Legacy. He cheered the girl up, became her loyal listener, found her a job that eventually led her to success, bought her a bicycle, threw congratulatory celebrations for her whenever she achieved something great, took over her job when she fell sick, helped solved her problems, found her a home, picked her up from work, drove her around, worried sick for her whenever she got stuck in a messed up situation, helped a stranger who turned out to be her lost dad without questioning much, cooked for her. A big brother is what she thought of him. In the end, he got dumped for a egoistic rich brat.
Kang Shin-woo, from You're Beautiful. He kept the girl's hugest secret, helped her when she's in trouble, protected her, made her cups of tea, told her indirect stories about him liking her, dried her tears, prepared her surprises which she never knew about (since she kept getting distracted by the hero), complimented her when the hero was too arrogant to do so, sang her a song, kissed her on her forehead. The kind bandmate - that's him. In the end, he got dumped for a proud, less handsome guy.
Han Jung-woo, from Cinderella's Stepsister. I don't really watch the drama but I know he did things the above three guys would also do for the girl. He cheered her up, acted goofy for her, watched over her, made her confronted her own chucked in feelings, carried her on his arms running, cried for her. He loved her since they were little. In the end, he didn't even get one kiss.
They are among the reasons why I don't like Korean dramas. I shed tears for them.
