elorie had a great entry today about power and protection; if you aren't reading her you might like to. One of her points was that the best way to protect yourself is to be empowered, to stand fully centered, grounded, and in awareness of yourself and your strength. I think the best way to deal with drama is to walk away from it. What I still need to learn though is how to find truly burning passion without it :)

Kira, I appreciate this post so much. I have always been one for avoiding the drama, but when it happened all around me, I didn't not get sucked in so much as I reverted to the self doubt, second guessing, and lack of self trust that you describe above. I have learned a hell of a lot from all of this experience, but what a high cost. In any case, your words have been inspiring.

The best maturation/life lessons/soul development I've had came from the worst thing that happened to me. I spent three years in the refiner's fire, and the dross burned away. That particular path of development isn't one that I'd wish on anyone, and I hope that it goes differently for you. However: if your situation comes to anything like mine did, I suspect you'll be an (even more) amazing person at the end of the process. I don't know the details, despite my houseguest, but I can guess -- and I'm thinking of you a lot lately. Let me know if I can help.
