Torchwood could use fewer cardboard, exploitationist characters, anyway. Fox is guaranteed to do that.
Doctor Who... well, I'm not liking the new doctor, and I generally don't mind remakes or alt. versions, especially in the face of the original looking to disappoint.
I'm sure neither will happen, though, and I don't think either will be all that great, even if they're not bad. Though, it's possible for the later: after all, American Office is miles and away better than the British version.

Agreed, it's what puts me off Torchwood. I hate it when people can't tell the difference between fair or equal representation and doing it for the sake of titillating an audience.
I was very happy to see that the non-Kippur reply to my comment wasn't combative, you have no idea. Well, maybe you do, since you might have been on that side of an argument before.
I quite agree with you: that's how I've been looking it, myself. It is so the latter; that was an issue I had with Queer as Folk, as well. I think the only other writer or producer I know of who does something similar is Joss Whedon, so I'm iffy about his stuff for similar reasons.

(Bets on the queer characters being written out? I'll start with $20)

This is going to hurt to watch, if it makes it to broadcast.
