I just saw a commercial for a 2-disc DVD set of the "fully restored" "The Little Mermaid".

What the hell?

Why does "The Little Mermaid" need to be RESTORED?

because it was hand drawn/painted and like any other piece of art or craftsmanship needs to be restored?

yes...but I remember when it came out...surely to goodness that much time hasn't passed...ugh.
I am aging.
Things like..."Snow White" need to be restored. Because it came out in the 1930's...but "The Little Mermaid"? I was actually in school when it debuted!
