Film Review: I Stand Alone (1998)

I came to a realization the other day. Previously on this blog, I've mentioned my love for incredibly dark films such as Park Chan-Wook's Vengeance Trilogy, or Takeshi Kitano's "Sonatine". I've realized that these are my horror films. I am quickly bored of disturbing, queasy acts of violence (ala Saw). I especially hate that genre of audience- ( Read more... )

That's kind of like in Wait Until Dark where they warned the audience that the theater will be darkened to the legal limit to enhance the climax of the film.

Or with William Castle's Homicidal where at the beginning of the film, he offers a full refund to anyone who can't get through the film in its entirety because it is too scary.
