Merlin has to kiss him again then, divest him of his shirt and palm all that tanned flesh Arthur’s been showing off lately. And then Merlin skims his hands lower, down Arthur’s back, over his arse, and then, at the way that makes Arthur squirm, up to catch the waistband of Arthur’s shorts and yank them out of his path. He can’t take them off, not with Arthur straddling him, but it’s enough to get his fingers on bare skin, to let him trace over the cleft of Arthur’s arse and feel how Arthur shudders when he does it.

“You’re sure you want this, Arthur?” Merlin forces himself to ask. “You don’t have to prove anything to me, there are other things we can-”

“God, please, I’ve been fingering myself in the shower and pretending it’s you for weeks, please“…Ok. Then get up, we’re going to the bedroom to do this properly. I won’t just have you on the couch like it doesn’t matter ( ... )

Fantastic, the best part being that you just created such a rich world where this happens repeatedly and I just want to see them meet a million other times now. I love the complete SHAMELESSNESS of young Arthur walking around with no shirt. And him having a nice mom.

And of course the ending just makes happy bubble inside me, because it's so cute.

This is ridiculously awesome.

I love the background and character-building, all the people Merlin runs into besides Morgana and Gwen, (Gaius! Uther being called Maurice!) and I really like the way you build the relationship between Merlin and Arthur bit by bit. The conversation where Arthur admits he doesn't like girls felt very natural to me, awkward the way these things tend to be.

Also loved Arthur being a ridiculous, intentional tease. Oh, and when Arthur finally gets Merlin in bed? Really, really hot. Just. wfhfffff.

Adorable. The idea behind it is a nice change from other AU's since it keeps the past in too.
