This is incredibly sexy, as Arthur and Merlin negotiate a more pleasing second union. Then, the bit at the end is sad, because just as Arthur is starting to enjoy this "duty" and find pleasure in it, the rug is pulled out from under him, this is only temporary. It leaves you longing for more.

I honestly did not see this twist coming (maybe should have, Uther's ruthlessness with regards to magic considered). Can feel Merlin's desolation and heartbreak of his family and kins death, and now the rest of his family in Ealdor are threatened as well. Uther sure knows how to make enemies. Arthur is right to feel sickened and ashamed of the cowardice.

This has gone somewhere totally unexpected and it's riveting. Uther using Arthur as a distraction was cold blooded. He'd gone into this mating knowing he was going to slaughter the Dragonlords, and now Arthur has bonded with Merlin. What a horrible turn of events. Poor Merlin. What is he going to do if his entire family has been killed?

George! GEORGE! I love how you characterize George, he made me laugh in ep 6 and I think this is exactly what he would be like to Arthur, the whole I'll just take this in my stride and do something sensible like get breakfast. Great update, Arthur finding out Merlin has magic, and Merlin's immediate regret at having used it to overpower Arthur.
