A/N: This is a short first chapter, I didn’t have a lot of time today, but I wanted to get my feet wet ;)

In retrospect Arthur knew who was to blame for the impossible situation he now found himself in; Walt Disney. The man who’d built an empire propagating false personas on to characters with adorably endearing and dangerously disarming large ears

This is delightful. Arthur's horror at his childhood comfort morphing into this attraction is hilarious and Morgana knowing it was going to happen is even funnier. I can't wait for him to try talking to the object of this burning attraction.

Merlin was even lovelier up close. His cheek bones were something you’d see on a runway in Milan, his eyes were a sea of blue that beckoned Arthur to dive in and lose himself, and his lips looked soft and welcoming. Arthur believed it a testament to Merlin’s beauty that he took the time to appreciate these other attributes before allowing himself to look at his ears. They were mesmerizing and Arthur found himself leaning in trying to get a better look. He felt his hand twitch, aching to reach up and tug one, just to make sure they were real

Arthur took a steadying breath trying to ignore the accusation he saw in the other’s eyes…the presumed guilt. Merlin obviously had some power to charm others into wanting to protect his honor. Arthur couldn’t blame them, he felt the same need.

“I honestly don’t know, one minute he was smiling as we made our introductions to one another, and the next he was yelling at me and stomping away!”

“You asked me if my ears were real!” Merlin yelled, drawing the attention of the other party goers.

“Oh Arthur you didn’t,” Morgana sighed.

Looking around at all of the faces staring at him in either pity or rage Arthur was still at a loss as to what he’d done that was so wrong.

“He asked me what I was thinking! I didn’t realise he’d get all…dramatic about it!”

“Are you for real? You think I‘m being dramatic?” Merlin moved passed his friends to stand in front of Arthur
