He stumbled backwards, fingers leaving the surface of the door. Like a switch, the dark wood jumped back into place, leaving Arthur’s thrusting body and Lancelot’s thrashing moans hidden behind the door. Shaking his head, Merlin tried to figure out what to do. Uther/Arthur, resentment

Arthur doesn't resent when Uther comes to his room long after decent people are in bed. He doesn't resent the weeping or the way his father will tell him how pretty he is. He doesn't resent his father saying he loves him or taking comfort in his body. He doesn't resent that in the bright light of day his father doesn't acknowledge their connection.

He resents that he is merely a stand in for his mother, that all the affection showered on him is for a woman he has the misfortune to resemble.

OP here. This is a really wonderful piece. I don't mind that it's short at all because these few sentences tell us so much and pack such an emotional punch. My heart breaks for poor Arthur who just so desperately wants to be loved by his father for who he is and not who he looks likes. Thank you so much for fulfilling the prompt! Loved it :D

Authors notes: ok so i've wanted this prompt to be filled since it was requested. Only recently did an plot (?) bunny come into my head and i had to write it. it was better in my head but that is always the way. as a warning some may consider this slightly (very lightly) dub-con, so be warned just in case

Arthur looked down at the board in confusion. What? Surely there was another move that could be made.

“Read it and weep” Merlin leant back against the chair raising his hands behind his head, a grin spreading from ear to ear. “Looks like you’re in for a ride tonight” Arthur glared back at Merlin. This was not going to happen.

“I doubt it Merlin. You’re obviously trying to get out of what is inevitably going to happen tonight” The look on Merlin’s face suggested a different story ( ... )

The idea of what it would be like to spank Merlin came from nowhere, but once it was on Arthur’s mind it plagued his thoughts every day and night for weeks. This left Arthur distracted, trying extremely hard not to think about it during any boring council meetings or silent dinners with his father. It was during a knights training session when the thought took over Arthur’s mind once more. It was than when Arthur decided he needed to do something to stop these thoughts before he went insane. Since trying to not think about it was not working, Arthur decided it was best to get it out of his system and so came up with a plan that was fool-proof ( ... )

Looking towards the chamber door, Merlin wondered whether he should quickly murmur a small spell to lock it. Arthur was still adjusting his body to get comfortable so he would be too pre-occupied to notice. It would be somewhat embarrassing if someone walked into the chambers gaining the perfect view of the Prince’s arse to find him receiving a spanking from his manservant.

“Merlin, are you going to start or are you beginning to doubt your own strength? Not that I’m particularly worried, you have the strength of a newborn.” Arthur mumbled the last sentence to himself, but Merlin heard every word. Merlin thus decided that there was no need to worry about the chamber door. No one is ever out this late at night, and if anyone did happen to walk in well it’s their own fault for walking in unannounced. It was the Prince’s chambers after all ( ... )
