Everyone knows Arthur is an utterly brilliant strategist. Teaching Merlin wrestling as an excuse to grope the man everywhere without shame? Brilliant. Practising it outside, on the grassy shore of a lake a long way from Camelot and any prying eyes? Brilliant. Pointing out that it's best done with shirts off? Divinely inspired.

But privately Arthur will admit that maybe sometimes he doesn't think his plans through completely. Getting so distracted by all that skin, slick and shining from exertion, and the play of Merlin's muscles under Arthur's hands, and his hot breath against Arthur's body as they grapple, getting so distracted by it all that Merlin manages to get the upper hand? Worth it, absolutely worth it, but not exactly clever because Merlin is never going to stop being smug if he manages to beat Arthur after only a few hours' practice. Especially not if he figures out why Arthur lost. And let's face it, Merlin isn't the sharpest sword in the armoury, but even he is bound to notice the bulge in Arthur's trousers sooner or ( ... )
