I don't think it needs to be explained, but - just in case. When I first read the story, these two lines really grabbed me, right from the beginning.
He has a new mental map across the states now -- a map echoed on Dean's body here and there, in scars, in fading bite marks, in a dusting of freckles from a day in the sun.

This is a brighter map. More precious.
It really just wraps everything this story is about up - absolutely beautiful words there.

First manip: Sam and Dean cuddling.
Even before I got the end of the story, I could see this happening. Throughout the story they are just so into each other, it's awesome. I could just see this happening, right after some of the really awesomely hot intense scenes.

Second manip: Sam and Dean in the shower.
Not actually a scene in the story, but, yeah. With the way things were going, I could see this as well. Sam just completely pushing into Dean's space and Dean just being all "ALKSDASHDJSDHFKAJSD, SAM." Yup, that was my actual reasoning.
