But it doesn't make sense either. If it's not "sorcery", as you called it, then I don't know what else it could be.

Then what is this device for, and how did I come to claim it?

[He's getting a tad used to talking with people on the pokegear, but it's still rather weird in his opinion.]

It seems like it's for ease of communication and keeping track of... things. I've never seen it before either, but I have one too. It reminds me of a cell phone with some really strange features, but not quite.

[Completely oblivious to the fact that this guy's from a thousand years in the past. Hey, if they can practice magic in the 21st century...]

A device such as this doesn't exist within my world. I hail from the year 1013, and as another has said; I'm from the past.

...Oh. That... explains a lot.

Well, the technology is really just a way to try and make things easy for us, I think. It's probably not so easy if you don't have a clue what you're doing, but it's not made to be impossible to figure out. It's not exactly magic, but it might help you out to think of it like that, I suppose.

But if some of this stuff isn't magic, I don't know what it could be... even our technology isn't this far yet in a couple aspects.

Right, I'm pretty sure that's the case here. No one seems to know why, though, as far as I can tell.

Yes, it would seem that there are currently no clues regarding this mystery. Although, I am hopeful that such shall change in due time.

Not very long, myself. Hopefully we can work on shedding some light on this, at least. It might take time, but I'm sure we can get to the bottom of it quickly.
